Swiss GAAP FER 40
-Consolidated financial statements of insurance companies

Description

The special provisions of Swiss GAAP FER 40 apply to accounting for insurance companies in addition and partial variation of the recommendations. Insurance companies within the meaning of Swiss GAAP FER 40 are deemed to be in particular insurers, irrespective of their legal form, who predominantly provide benefits as non-life insurers, life insurers and reinsurers. Insurance companies must apply the framework concept and the other recommendations as well as Swiss GAAP FER 30 for consolidated financial statements and Swiss GAAP FER 31 in the event of a listing. The provisions of this recommendation (e.g. presentation and structure, valuation) take precedence over those of the other recommendations.

A version of the standard in English is not available yet. You can find German and French versions on the respective sites.
