Swiss GAAP FER 24
–Equity and transactions with shareholders

Description

Swiss GAAP FER 24 “Equity and transactions with shareholders” regulates the recognition, valuation and presentation of own shares as well as the carrying amount of, and changes in, equity and its components. The acquisition of own shares is generally to be recognised at cost at the date of acquisition. The amount of own shares is to be presented as a (separate) deduction from the equity. There is no revaluation to be performed. Upon disposal, any gain or loss is not to be recognised in the result of the period but as an addition to, or a deduction from, capital reserves (agio). Furthermore, a statement of changes in equity is to be presented as a separate component of the financial statements.
