The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) is the competence centre of the Confederation for tax affairs. Together with it partners, the FTA makes an important contribution to the financing of public services. Its areas of activity include the value-added tax (VAT), direct federal tax, withholding tax, stamp duties and Military Service Exemption Tax. Among the services that the FTA provides are the proper application and execution of tax law, information regarding tax questions, the continued development of tax law and participation in international tax matters.
